Anil Kumar Bhandari

Anil Kumar Bhandari, the creative genius, was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, in 1955.He had a passion for cinema since the age of fourteen and grew up in the era of Bollywood legends likeRajendra Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, and Dharmendra. Anil’s childhood aspiration was to become a Bollywood actor. However, life had different plans for him and he was married in 1979 at the age of 23. New Jersey, USA was his next destination where he fulfilled his father’s long time wish of becoming a Mechanical Engineer. Being the eldest son, his priority was his family above everything else. Anil worked for ten years as an Electro-Mechanical designer,whilst being a dutiful son and loving father.
Despite all of this, his heart was deeply consumedwith a burning desire to become a part of Indian cinema. In 1993, by virtue of his passion, Anil decided to pursuea course in filmmaking at New York University’s Tisch School of Arts.Upon completion of his studies, he was interested in exploring creative avenues and utilizing his newfound filmmaking expertise in new projects. However, things were not easy because of the proximity of his home to New York City the film Macca.
Anil is now retired and free from all familial obligations. He has returned back to India after 43 years to pursue his passion of Cinema. Anil strongly believes that his innate sense of music and art of storytelling will take cinema to different heights.He is excited and honored to make his debut as a producer to the world of Indian cinema, completing his first project, a short film, entitled, Taqdeer aur Khwab. Stay tuned for Anil’s directorial debut, a full feature film, will be coming soon to a theater near you.
